About
An institution, not an event.
A permanent executive platform for Africa's digital-asset economy, converting candid conversation into published research, practical regulatory intelligence and skilled professionals.
The Legum Digital Assets & Compliance Dialogue brings founders, issuers, exchanges, custodians, infrastructure providers, banks and technology companies to the same table as regulators, central banks, financial intelligence units and policymakers, on a continuous cadence.
Conferences produce attention. Institutions produce accumulation. Four things only accumulate under continuity: relationships that survive a change of personnel; evidence gathered over years rather than days; method, which improves only through repetition and correction; and trust, which is demonstrated rather than asserted.
Vision
An African digital-asset economy governed by regulation that is clear, implementable, proportionate and interoperable across borders, designed with evidence, supervised with capability, and trusted by the institutions that must use it.
Mission
To convene Africa's digital-asset public and private sectors on a continuous cadence, and to convert that dialogue into independent research, practical regulatory intelligence, implementable compliance frameworks and skilled professionals.
Our north star
If it does not change what a regulator does, what a firm does, or what a professional can do, it is not our work.
Every session, publication and programme is tested against that sentence.
What we are not
We produce evidence, publish it, and defend it.
We are not a lobbying organisation. We do not represent industry to regulators or regulators to industry. We do not advocate for any technology, instrument, issuer or vendor. We do not comment on individual enforcement matters, market prices or contested political questions.
An initiative of Legum Limited
Two functions, separated by design.
The Dialogue was established by Legum Limited, an Africa-focused legal, regulatory, compliance and policy institution.
Legum also operates Legum Compliance, a commercial advisory practice. The two are separated by design: no solicitation takes place on any Dialogue platform; research may be, and will be, adverse to Legum Compliance clients; and where the two touch, the relationship is disclosed in the publication and the work receives additional independent review.
How we protect independenceJoin the Dialogue.
Weekly sessions are by invitation or approved application. Research is free to everyone, permanently.
